Additional 3rd COVID-19 Booster Shot

The FDA has authorized and the CDC does recommend the administration of an additional 3rd Booster Shot of the Pfizer or Moderna Vaccine to only a small number of individuals who are classified as being moderately or severely immunocompromised. The CDC defines the immunocompromised classification to be: 1) Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood  2) Received an organ transplant and taking medicine to suppress the immune system  3) Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or currently taking medicines that are suppressing the immune system  4) Advanced or untreated HIV infection  5) Active treatment with high dose corticosteroids or other drugs suppressing the immune response  6) Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency.                                                                                                                                        The CDC recommends that these vulnerable people get the booster dose provided it has been at least 28 days since getting the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna Vaccine. Currently, the Booster Shot ONLY applies to those immunocompromised as specified above. Recommendations for other people to get the additional 3rd Booster Shot will be coming in the near future. We will administer the vaccination to you in the Pharmacy if you decide to get it. We will ask you to simply sign a form the day of arrival attesting that you are immunocompromised.  We are currently only administering the Moderna Vaccine. Just give us a call at the Pharmacy or go to our website Home Page or COVID-19 Vaccine Page and sign up. We can help. Thank you!
